Dance Plus  STUDIO POLICIES AND RULES

1.      An enrollment application must be completed for each student before beginning classes (after initial trial class).  There is a one-time $30.00 registration fee per child for new students only.  A family discount is offered on tuition.

2.      Tuition is charged on a semester basis, and monthly payments may be arranged, due no later than the 15th of each month.  Tuition will not be refunded in whole or in part once the student has been enrolled regardless of the extent of participation in the class(es).  Tuition must be paid in full before the end of each semester.  Past due amounts will be sent to a collection agency.

3.      Students must wear proper dance attire:  leotard with socks (for ages 6 and under) or tights (7 and older) and dance shoes.  Jewelry should be kept to a minimum, and long hair should be pulled back securely in a ponytail or bun.  No shorts (except bike shorts) and no T-shirts are allowed.  No long pants may be worn for ballet class, but may be worn for jazz and tap.  Proper dance shoes are required in all classes after the first trial class.

4.      Students are expected to respect others and their property.  All bags, shoes, and purses must be labeled with student’s name and should be kept in the classroom with the student.  The studio is not responsible for lost or unlabeled items.

5.      All students ages 9 and up must take ballet in order to enroll in jazz or tap classes.

6.      All students should be dropped off and picked up at the door by a parent.  Students must wait inside until a parent arrives, as no waiting outside is allowed for any student.  Parents are welcome in the waiting room or kitchen area during class. Parents should pick up students promptly after class.  If unavoidably detained, please contact the office immediately.

7.      Before class, students should wait quietly in the waiting room to be called by their teacher. We strive to begin each class on time and appreciate students arriving promptly.

8.      Parents are not allowed inside classrooms during classes and should not open doors while classes are in progress.  Teachers ONLY are responsible for discipline in the classroom.  If a student is disruptive, he or she will be given a time-out in the classroom.  If the disruptive behavior continues, the student will be removed to the office, and the parent will be notified of the misbehavior.

9.      Parent observation through classroom windows is typically allowed; however, teachers may close the window shades at their discretion.

10.      It is the parent’s responsibility to notify the office of student absences (preferably in advance) so that we may schedule a make-up class.  Tuition charges for missed lessons may be waived at the discretion of the office only if there are extenuating circumstances.

11.      You must notify THE OFFICE (not a teacher or fellow student) if your child is dropping his/her class(es); if the office has not been notified, you will be billed for classes because we will be holding a place in the class for your child.  If a student misses more than four classes without parent notification to the office, the student will be considered dropped from the class and may be required to pay a $10.00 re-enrollment fee to rejoin the class during the same semester.

12.      All food and drinks must be kept in the kitchen area.  No food is allowed in the waiting room or hallway.  Please clean up after yourself, putting all trash in the proper containers.

13.      Siblings of students are NOT allowed at Dance Plus without direct parental supervision while students are in class.  We are unable to provide supervision for children not in class (with the exception of teachers’ children), and our insurance carrier will not allow unsupervised children in the studio.

14.      Any costumes, special order dancewear, or items in the lost and found must be picked up within 90 days or they will become the property of Dance Plus.

15.      Gum and smoking are not allowed in any part of the studio.
